Until 1996, the parade was held in Berlin on the famous "Kurfürstendamm". Back then the parades were so popular, that not only the Kurfürstendamm was overcrowded but the streets and even railway tracks near the Ku'damm too. So the parade moved to the "Straße des 17. Juni" which is in the center of Berlin. Due to more severe crowding the whole parade moved from Berlin to the more centralized RUHR area of Germany. This years Love Parade will be held in Dortmund and will run along the main motorway, the B1, which runs straight through the centre of Dortmund, hence the name 'Highway to Love'.

All in all, the 14 tracks range between the atmospheric, deep and exuberant. His "Intro" as well as his "Blue Interlude" serve as an oasis within a sparkling masterpiece. The true beginning marks "5 a.m.", a hymn where Brazilian-style percussions are getting more and more unleashed, embedded by ever-changing soundscapes. "It´s You" draws its power from Pooley's versatile beats together with smooth vocals and jazzy blue notes. amazing in its elegance and airiness.

Monika Kruse
Changes Of Perception, part 1 (Terminal M)

We are proud to present part 1 in a series of 3, that Monika who was recently voted to the top 4 of Ravelines National DJs, co-produced this with Gregor Tresher, Raveline’s top producer of the year in 2006 and 2007! The Original Mix it really fits with the name since the listener gets captured by the hypnotic sound of a single wooden click at the beginning of the track, whereas in the middle of the track a dark bassline creates a great tension pushing forward in several thrusts until it almost peaks out. But just before it drifts into aggressiveness it changes it’s direction like making a u-turn, eases the tension and leaves you with a ghostly clicksound which already set the tone at the beginning of the track and spreads over the whole piece. This click also appears on Marek Hemmann’s remix. But he tinkers a happy percussion line out of it. The outcome is a knotless house-track in which happiness and playfulness come together to create a deepness and dirtyness.

Elektrolux
The Beatless Collection Vol. 1

When looking back on the development of electronic dance music during the past twenty years in fast forward mode, one of the few remaining constants is the beat: living metre of the club, catalyser of motor activity, heartbeat of the dancer. But why? Meanwhile, the trendsetters of the current electronica scene follow a more differentiated approach. Pace and rhythmicity, the syncopic chords and sequences and, last but not least, deep emotional worlds of sound are positioning this new form of electronic dance music clearly in a club context without the bass drum playing her sometimes even crushing role. Finally, energetic tracks with musicality and sensual passion can be produced without drums very well. Now, Elektrolux mastermind Alex Azary applies himself to this phenomenon by the first and definitely ground-breaking compilation in the still young year 2008. This is just a logical consequence as Alex Azary, together with his co-producer Gabriel LeMar, already anticipated a comparable sound aesthetics at his gigs at the UK cult club Orbit, Leeds, about ten years ago. This hybrid of club music and experimental electronics also characterizes the joint productions of Alex Azary and Gabriel Le Mars brand new Subsonic Park project in terms of pace, deepness and the unterstanding of dub. On "Beatless Collection", two tracks of the project can be found. The other compilation contributors are Kompakt producers Gui Boratto and Hiroshi Watanabe (aka Kaito), Anders Trentemøller (Copenhagen) Joris Voorn, Chymera, Ovum and Delsin ambassador of Ireland, Taho or Deadmau5 - the list just reads like the who is who of current club music.

Kick Out The Jams (iO Music)

If you think of Germany's Rhine-Ruhr area you might perhaps think of closed coal-mines, football and beer in the first place, but these regions have far more to offer. Especially the electronic music scene between Düsseldorf and Dortmund is very vibrant and Moguai is definitely one of its most important representatives. Living in quiet Recklinghausen, the ardent local patriot visits the whole world from there and has still never contemplated about turning his back on his hometown. This is only one of the reasons which make the man who was born André Tegeler so likable. In the first place it has been and still is his musical success which has made Moguai one of the most popular DJs and producers of our time.

This week he releases his first record in 2008 “Kick Out The Jams” on the UK’s iO Music label which includes 2 fabulous mixes from Manuel Tur and Wally Lopez.
